Göreme has hundreds of beautiful hotels, including many incredible cave hotels, enticing you with beautiful terraces overlooking the city, cozy beds, and inviting breakfast options. Making a choice can be overwhelming. So, I want to give you a few ideas based on places I personally experienced, so I can hopefully simplify your choice based on your needs.
I stayed in four different hotels on my trip to Göreme, Cappadocia, in December 2025. The low-season prices allowed me to experience a variety of accommodations, so I could give you an honest review of different stays for different budgets. I’ll go into more detail in this article, but here is the list of hotels I included:
Full disclosure: I paid for each of these stays, so there has been no incentive to represent any of these hotels in a more positive light. I booked them all through Booking.com. I will share the pros and cons of each and give you my personal opinion on why you should choose either option.
Note that this is not an exhaustive list of all the hotels available in Göreme. There are, of course, many other great options to choose from. In this article, I include a variety of options that tailor to different needs, including one budget stay, two mid-range options, and one luxury stay. So let’s get into it.

Turan Cappadocia Cave: Budget-Friendly with Amazing Views
Let’s kick off with the place among the four that I believe offers the most value for money. Turan Cappadocia Cave is the most affordable place I stayed at, though prices vary by room type. They also have dorms, which I opted for, and that’s quite rare in Göreme.
I ended up sharing a twin room with another girl, which was way better than the dorm bed I originally booked, so kudos for the service! I guess that was due to the low season and few visitors.
However, they also offer private rooms in their main structure and cave rooms. As you can imagine, cave rooms are more expensive. Another plus is that breakfast is included in the room price. The buffet has a lot of savory and sweet options, along with coffee and tea.

One of the best things about this place is its location, a little higher than the surrounding buildings, offering great views of Göreme. They also have a wonderful terrace that was unfortunately closed due to the cold weather. I can only imagine it being amazing in the summer.
The only con I feel like mentioning is that the room I stayed in was quite small, and the bathroom was extremely small. I could barely turn around or even sit properly on the toilet. I guess this wouldn’t be much of an issue when you have the room for yourself, but it is when you share with strangers.
Overall, this hotel is ideal for pretty much everyone, from backpackers and budget travelers to those who want a bit of extra comfort. While it’s not a luxury stay, it’s definitely cozy. Plus, did I mention that the view is amazing?

Feel Cappadocia Stone House: Mid-Range with a Beautiful Terrace
If you want a super central location, large rooms, and a nice terrace to watch the balloons in the morning, all at an affordable price, this hotel is for you. Feel Cappadocia Stone House is just a 2-minute walk from the bus station, in a perfect location to reach the main restaurants and cafés.
If you like having lots of space, then this may be your top choice on this list. The room I had (Deluxe Room) was huge, with a large bed, a sofa with a coffee table, a desk, and a fairly-sized bathroom. I also had a kettle with coffee and tea in the room, in addition to the breakfast included in the price.
Speaking about breakfast, it was my favorite of the three I tried. The buffet had a nice variety of sweet and savory options, including scrambled eggs and pancakes, which I didn’t have at any of the other places I stayed. Also, breakfast is served on the upper floor in an indoor area and on an open terrace.

The location of this hotel is perfect if you don’t want to walk much, especially uphill. I mean, you’ll still need to walk up and down the hills for the best sights in Göreme, but at least the hotel is in a flat area, with lots of cafés and restaurants within a short walking distance.
This hotel is ideal for budget-conscious travelers who still want a comfortable place with good amenities. While prices vary depending on the season, it’s still among the more affordable options in the mid-range category.

Hanzade Cappadocia: Super Central Mid-Range Gem
Hanzade Cappadocia is the best choice for those who don’t want to walk uphill too much, or even for those with mobility issues. Located in the flat area of Göreme, just a few minutes from the bus station, this hotel only has a few rooms, but they are beautiful for the price you pay – at least in the low season.
While I got an insanely low price for a large and comfy room in December, prices do rise considerably in the high season, so you’ll have to keep that in mind. Of the two mid-range options I tried, this one has more price fluctuations by season, meaning great deals in winter but not so much in summer.
One thing worth mentioning about the room I got (Standard Double Room) is that it had a huge bed. Three people could sleep comfortably in it! While this was great, it also meant it took up most of the room, leaving less space to move around. It was still a decent-sized room.

The bathroom here was the coolest I had in Cappadoccia: huge, stone walls, a large shower and a nice stone sink. In general, I really loved the design of my room. Plus, the outdoor areas are super pretty if you’re looking for a photoshoot set!
Breakfast here was okay, but nothing to write home about. It had a nice variety of savory cold food like olives, cheese, and spreads. I don’t know if I got there late (after the balloon ride), but there was nothing warm, like scrambled eggs. It was still nice to have it included in the price.
I think this is an ideal option if you want to be in the lower, flat part of Göreme, within a short walk from the bus station. It’s a great option in the low and shoulder seasons, but maybe a bit overpriced in the summer. It’s still a great option for those looking for a blend of comfort and location.

Terra Cave: Gorgeous Boutique Cave Hotel
Now, this was undoubtedly the most beautiful place I stayed in, so the higher price is totally justified. The only downside I feel I should mention is that it’s in a higher area of Göreme, so there’s a bit of an uphill walk to reach it. But then again, how can you get these views otherwise?
Now let’s talk about the pros. The hotel features a variety of rooms with independent entrances right from the outdoor areas. There is a small inner courtyard and a series of terraces, open or closed, that overlook the town and make for perfect photo opportunities. Even in December, the iconic terrace with cushions and traditional carpets was open for guests to enjoy.

My room was cozy and delightfully decorated. While smaller than the two mid-range ones I stayed in, this one had the most beautiful design. Aside from the cozy bed, it had a small sitting area by the window overlooking the courtyard and the town, a small fridge, and a kettle with coffee and tea. The bathroom was small but lovely.
The service was also amazing. I had an early flight, so I couldn’t enjoy the buffet breakfast (still kicking myself for not thinking this through), and the staff made sure I had a packed breakfast ready when I left, with a sandwich, juice, and fruit.
This hotel is absolutely worth it if you have the budget. I found the value for money was amazing in the low season – it was more of a mid-range price in December. However, this gets much more expensive in the summer, so consider that. Also, if you want a gorgeous terrace for the iconic Cappadocia photos, this is the place for you!

Photo Opportunities in Each Hotel
Okay, let’s face it, if we’re traveling to Cappadoccia, we want to get those iconic shots. So you may be wondering, do these hotels offer good photo opportunities? The short answer is yes! Below are more details for every hotel I stayed at, with my personal rating of how picture-perfect each place is.
- Turan Cappadocia Cave: 9/10
The hotel has a nice terrace and lovely balconies overlooking the inner courtyard and the town. Since it’s not very high up, you don’t get a sweeping view, but it’s still very nice, especially for sunset pictures!

- Feel Cappadocia Stone House: 8/10
The terrace offers a nice view of the center of Göreme, but again, the hotel is not in a high vantage point, so you just see the buildings up close. It is, however, a good spot for pictures of the balloons flying right above the rooftops. But you’ll have to wake up at sunrise for that!

- Hanzade Cappadocia: 8/10
Now, this place has a closed terrace for breakfast, and it has a bit of a view. However, that’s not the best photo opportunity here. The entrance to the hotel features dozens of colorful lamps that make for the perfect photo set. Plus, there’s another actual photo set in the inner courtyard, which is really pretty. You don’t get the sweeping views, but you can get some really nice photos.

- Terra Cave: 10/10
Now this is the place to go if you want those iconic Cappadocia photos. The hotel actually has several areas for beautiful pictures overlooking Göreme. However, the little terrace with the carpets and cushions is the perfect spot for a sunrise or sunset photoshoot. I expect this to be crowded in the high season, but there was nobody around when I was there in December.

How to Choose the Right Hotel for Your Trip
Göreme really has a huge variety of accommodation options. There are so many that it can feel overwhelming. So here are the things I looked for when choosing these hotels:
- Location: I specifically wanted hotels in the center of Göreme to walk everywhere. I recommend this if you’re not driving. You may also consider whether the hotel is uphill or in a flat area.
- Price: I’m usually a budget traveler, so this is the first thing I look at. Göreme offers a wide range of accommodation prices. However, it’s predominantly a summer destination, so prices rise significantly in the high season. If you’re on a budget, I recommend visiting between November and February for the best prices. That’s how I was able to splurge without breaking the bank.
- Views: If a nice view from your hotel or even room is important to you, I recommend choosing places at higher points. Terra Cave is a good example. These hotels tend to be a little more expensive as they have terraces and cave rooms.
- Breakfast: I wanted breakfast included in the price, so I specifically looked for hotels that offered it. However, I believe most hotels in Göreme offer breakfast, either included in the room price or as an add-on.
- Comfort: This is typically directly proportional to the price you pay. Budget stays usually offer smaller rooms or even dorms, while mid-range and luxury stays are definitely more comfortable. This is not always easy to determine, which is why I always read reviews. And that brings me to my next and final point.
- Reviews: I always base my choices on reviews from previous travelers. I like Booking.com because reviews are always based on actual stays. However, people are biased, and it’s rare for a place to suit everyone’s needs. So I tend to read a variety of reviews before making my mind, particularly paying attention to exactly what travelers didn’t like. I usually aim for an average of 8/10 and above, but depending on the location, I may consider places with a slightly lower rating.
